Private Car Insurance
Comprehensive Insurance · Third-Party Liability · 24-Hour Roadside Assistance
Private car insurance offers comprehensive protection for your vehicle and coverage against liability risks on the road. Comprehensive coverage includes protection against losses such as collisions, natural disasters, flood damage, theft, and vandalism while parked, as well as legal liability for third-party bodily injury and property damage; alternatively, you may opt for third-party liability insurance that meets statutory minimum requirements.
Scope of Coverage
Combines comprehensive coverage (full coverage) with third-party liability protection, covering both damage to your vehicle and legal liabilities arising from road use.
For damage to or loss of the insured vehicle resulting from an accident—including collision, natural disasters, flooding, vandalism while parked, and theft—the maximum compensation shall be the reasonable market value at the time of the incident or the insured amount, whichever is lower.
If the insured vehicle is damaged and rendered inoperable, coverage extends to the reasonable costs of protection and transport to the nearest repair facility, as well as delivery back to an address within the local area following repairs (not to exceed 20% of the agreed repair cost).
Legal liability for third-party bodily injury or death arising from the use of the insured vehicle: maximum indemnity of HK$100,000,000 per accident.
Legal liability for direct damage to third-party property, with a maximum indemnity of HK$2,000,000 per incident.
A basic option that meets Transport Department statutory requirements, covering legal liability for third-party bodily injury or death and direct property damage caused by negligence.
During a hospital stay for treatment following an accident, a cash allowance is provided based on the insured coverage amount; compensation is typically calculated on a daily basis.
Additional Coverage (Comprehensive Insurance)
In addition to standard coverage, comprehensive private car insurance plans on the market generally offer all or most of the following additional protections.
Replacement of windshield and/or windows
Compensation for the same car model (replacing the old with the new)
Does not affect the "No Claim Discount" protection.
24-Hour Consultation Hotline (Emergency Roadside Repair & Towing Services)

Personal Accident Coverage
"Cross-border (Guangdong-Hong Kong) coverage available as an add-on"

Important Information Regarding Insurance Coverage
Before purchasing private car insurance, please note the following to ensure the policy takes effect smoothly and claims can be processed:
The insured vehicle must hold a valid Hong Kong vehicle registration document and vehicle licence.
The driver must hold a valid Hong Kong driving licence.
When taking out the insurance, you must declare the age, driving experience, and past claims history of all drivers.
For the No Claim Discount (NCD), proof of renewal or discount from the previous policy must be provided.
Private cars must not be used for taxi services, carrying passengers for hire or reward, or commercial purposes.
You must notify the insurance company immediately if there is a change in the vehicle's use, the installation of modifications, or a change of driver.
Claims Guide
Should any incident occur that could give rise to a claim, please notify our Claims Department immediately; we will assist you throughout the entire claims process.
Immediately contact the company's Claims Department after the accident and provide the policy number, policyholder's name, and contact telephone number. Remember not to admit liability, enter into agreements, or make promises to anyone without the insurance company's written consent.
Submit the vehicle registration document, copies of the driver's ID card and driving licence, the car accident report, photographs of the damage, and the repair quotation issued by the garage.
Please forward any letters from the police, court summonses, or correspondence from third-party lawyers to our company immediately. Once liability has been established, repair items and reasonable costs will be agreed upon with the repair shop; the insurance company will make direct payment to the shop after the client signs the satisfaction note.
Please note that a delay in notification may result in the insurance company refusing to process your claim in accordance with the terms of the policy.
